Upon researching Jellyfish, I found more varieties of jellyfish than I thought possible. This species intrigued me; I thought it had ruffles on its body. I chose a very bright yellow green one of a kind handdyed cotton fabric for the background. Purple, Pink and Blue are common colors of jellyfish. These fabrics are also handdyed. The outer tennacles are a multi colored pink and purple cotton with gold flecks.
The turtle, fish and bottom growth of the sea are cut from fabrics in their original state. The background was bright so I chose a varigated green thread in a darker shade to tone the sea down. It is quilted to represent water moving as the Jellyfish is swaying to the sound of the sea. I hung this piece on a bamboo hanger. This is an original one of a kind.
