Art Show at the Winery

April 1st brings the spring flowers especially the Tulips. Tulip Festival has begun and Louise Magno and I have put together a 24 artist show at the Tulip Valley Winery located at 16163 State Route 536 Mount Vernon, WA. We are open everyday in April from 10AM to 6PM.

The Art show features 24 local artists in a variety of mediums. You can choose from Paintings of all mediums, Photos, Fabric Art, Stoneware, Glass, Jewelry, Mosaics, Funky Clothes, Doggie Specialties, and Woodturning. Meet the artists as they work the show.

Spring us almost upon us

I am looking forward to warmer weather mixed with a little sunshine. Living in the Pacific Northwest always brings its fair share of rain, but we have the greenest grass, and greenest mountains around. Flowers are beginning to hint that they will be blooming soon.

Well I don't know what happened to Spring but I hope it doesn't take all of summer to get here. Most of us are running around with white legs and arms. Good old Northwest individuals.

Hope everyone is finding things to keep them busy since playing outside is on the back burner.

A new Direction

As the new year is beginning I have been trying new techniques and Ideas. Emerging backgrounds that look as though they were printed or dyed that way is giving me a new background to build upon. Some on my new pieces will be sporting this process and will be added to my gallerys as soon as I get my pictures back.

This year should be a good one to try and create a different look.

2011 has been a challenge, With a shattered wrist, I had to pare my shows down some. But I am ready for 2012. I now am doing some home decorating with pillows, screens and table runners. I am also working on getting into Hawaii.

Surface Design workshop

I just finished a week long workshop with Jane Dunnewold creating wonderful art cloth.

Wow! Look for some new things in my art coming up. We dyed and redyed fabric. We made stencils, silkscreens and stamps that we used to layer to the dyed fabrics. Each layer brought out a new look, now for using that fabric.

Well 2012 is here and the time to get busy again.

The month of April will be Skagit Valley's Tulip show at the Tulip Valley Winery. The address is 16163 SR 536 (Memorial Hiwy) 20 of us artists will be at the Winery on Memorial Hiway the entire month of April. We have such a great collection of artists that you won't want to miss it. See you There!

The Grand Opening is Friday April 6 from 6-8 PM. There will be Wine available, food Drawings, and Live Music with Stan.
